Marjorie Calling is not yet open. At the moment the only thing we do with personal information is keep a list of people who have asked to hear from us when we launch, and ask them a few questions about what they need. This notice explains exactly what that involves. It is deliberately short, because what we do is deliberately small.
Who we are
Marjorie Calling is the trading name of its founder, who runs this venture personally and is the data controller for the information described here. A company, Marjorie Calling Ltd, will be formed before the service launches and will take over as controller; we will update this notice when that happens.
You can reach the founder directly at marketing@marjoriecalling.co.uk — a person reads and answers every message. If you would prefer a postal address, ask and we will give you one.
What we collect, and why

We do not ask for payment details, and we will not, until there is something to pay for and you have decided to pay it.
Who else handles it
We are one person and some carefully chosen suppliers. The companies below process your information on our behalf, under contract:
- Formspree — receives the form when you submit it and passes it to us.
- Microsoft — our email; that is where your message arrives and where our replies come from.
- Netlify — hosts this website.
Some of these are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where information leaves the UK it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing, and we will not pass it to anyone else without telling you.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to stop, or until two years after we last heard from you — whichever comes first. If we decide not to launch Marjorie Calling, we will delete the list and tell you we have done so.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and say "take me off the list" — that works, and nobody will try to talk you out of it. Ask at marketing@marjoriecalling.co.uk and we will act within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes we will ask your permission first and update this notice.
A note about the person Marjorie would call. If you are signing up on behalf of a parent or relative, please give us only your own details for now. We will not contact them, and Marjorie will not call anyone, until they know about it and are happy for it to happen. Their consent matters more to us than a signup does.
